About

About Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Treated areas:Breast

A breast lift raises, reshapes, and firms sagging breasts. We remove extra skin, tighten the inner tissue, and move the nipple and darker skin area (areola) higher up to a more youthful position.

It improves shape and position, it does NOT make breasts much bigger.

✅ You can combine it with implants or fat transfer if you want more volume too.

Ideal Candidate

Ideal for women experiencing sagging from:
  • Aging and loss of skin elasticity
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Weight gain or loss
  • Gravity over time

Breast lift is ideal if your breasts have sagged, lost shape, or sit low and you want them lifted, firm, and youthful again, with or without extra size.

Proven Results

  • Breasts sit higher and firmer
  • Nicer, rounder, youthful shape
  • Nipples point forward and sit at the right height
  • Areola size balanced and neat
  • Better fit in bras, tops, and swimwear
Procedure

How It Is Performed

  1. Administer general anesthesia
  2. Perform pre-operative marking of incision patterns (vertical, anchor, donut) based on lift degree
  3. Create incisions according to planned pattern
  4. Elevate and reposition nipple-areola complex on dermal pedicle to maintain blood supply
  5. Remove excess skin and glandular tissue as needed
  6. Tighten underlying breast tissue through suturing (plication)
  7. Reshape breast envelope to achieve fullness and contour
  8. For reduction: remove additional glandular tissue to achieve desired breast size/weight
  9. Reposition inframammary fold (breast-chest junction) at desired height
  10. Close incisions with layered sutures
  11. Apply compression dressing and supportive bra
  12. Assess symmetry and proportions before final closure

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Will breast lift or reduction affect my ability to breastfeed?

There is some risk, particularly with more extensive procedures involving greater skin removal. Periareolar or vertical scars carry higher risk than other patterns. Discuss concerns thoroughly with your surgeon pre-operatively.

How noticeable will scars be after breast lift?

Scars follow the surgical pattern (vertical, anchor, etc.) and are typically placed along natural breast contours. Scars are red and visible for 3-6 months but fade significantly by 12-18 months. Most patients feel results well outweigh scar visibility.

Can breast lift be combined with augmentation if I want volume and lifting?

Yes, many patients combine lift with implant augmentation or fat grafting to achieve both elevation and volume restoration. This is often more effective than lift alone for certain cases.

How long do breast lift results last?

Results are permanent in terms of tissue repositioning, but aging and gravity continue over time. Most patients enjoy results for 10-15 years before noticing gradual re-descent. Results last longer than no intervention.

Will reduction improve my back and shoulder pain?

Yes, reducing breast weight often provides significant relief from chronic pain. However, pain relief is not guaranteed in every case—discuss realistic expectations with your surgeon.
