PLA-Affiliated Military Plastic Surgery

PLA-Affiliated Military Plastic Surgery refers to plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery services at People’s Liberation Army (PLA)-affiliated military hospitals in Beijing, primarily the PLA General Hospital (301 Hospital) Plastic and Cosmetic Department (established 1953) and Beijing 304 Hospital Plastic and Cosmetic Department (established 1958). The Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS) at Badachu, China’s only public tertiary plastic-surgery hospital with 200+ plastic surgeons, is also frequently referenced in this context. These are among China’s most authoritative public plastic-surgery teaching and research units, with particular military-strength specialties in burn reconstruction, war-wound and trauma surgery, microsurgery and replantation, and cranio-maxillofacial reconstruction.
