Ginza Phoenix Clinic
Japan
Dr. Hisashi Nagai’s career is one of the most remarkable paths in Japanese medicine. Originally a student at the Faculty of Law at Keio University, he switched to medicine and earned his MD and PhD from the University of Tokyo, becoming a leading expert in tumour immunology and cancer immune cell therapy. His main research at the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Medicine, supported by a fellowship from the Ministry of Education, advanced knowledge of how macrophages regulate pulmonary microcirculation. His findings were published in international journals after a major multi institutional study conducted at Japan’s SPring 8 synchrotron radiation facility. As Visiting Associate Professor at Tokai University Graduate School of Human Environmental Studies, he applies strict academic standards to the challenge of using the immune system to treat advanced cancer. In 2021, he became Director of Ginza Phoenix Clinic, turning decades of research into accessible, practical treatments for patients. He developed the clinic’s patent pending NKT cell culture technology (application number 2025‑95087), demonstrating both his ongoing scientific contributions and commitment to expanding immune cell therapy.
